CHARITIES

Each year we partner with a number of charitable organisations and social causes that align with our festival values.

Many of these organisations have an emphasis on supporting young people through music, with a specific focus on supporting those from underrepresented backgrounds, alongsie a selection of local charities.

We welcome these charities as recipients of our guestlist donations, as well as hosting charities and organisations on site for our community to explore.

New for 2023, each festival purchase included a £1 charity donation. We invited some charity partners onsite, where customers could choose where their donation went, raising over £12k.

Sleep Pod

We’ve been working with Sleep Pod –  a one-person shelter that can offer meaningful protection from the elements – since our first show in 2019. We’ve welcomed Sleep Pod on-site, building shelters with festival goers and in others years, in a stall spreading more info about their vital work.

Tomorrow's Warriors

We’ve also been working with the fantastic development organisation Tomorrow’s Warriors (TW). TW believe in a world where opportunities for participation, ownership and leadership in music and the arts are available to all. They aim to inspire, foster and grow a vibrant community of artists, audiences and leaders who together will transform the lives of future generations by increasing opportunity, diversity and excellence in and through jazz. Previously TW alumni include WOH favourites Shabaka Hutchings, Nubya Garcia, Ezra Collective, Cassie Kinoshi, Moses Boyd to mention a few.

Absolute Music Trust

Last year we ran a Charity Bike Ride to We Out Here, with our friends Velo Domestique in Bournemouth. Between the participants, we raised over £4,000 for local charity Absolute Music Trust who provide music opportunities to disadvantaged children and adults in Dorset. The scheme will be back again this year: keep an eye out if you’d like to take part!
