ABOUT US

Welcome to We Out Here!

Having taken our name from the 2018 Brownswood Recordings compilation ‘We Out Here‘; a calling card for London’s bright-burning young jazz scene, We Out Here Festival launched in 2019, uniting integral members of the movement alongside legendary icons, genre-spanning DJs, and young improvisers alike for four days of music and community.

As festival founder Gilles Peterson has over his four-decade-long career, we join the musical dots between soul, hip hop, house, afro, electronica, jazz and beyond; showcasing both outstanding live music and some of the best record collections in the world. Past guests include Thundercat, Pharaoh Sanders, Yussef DayesEzra Collective, Nia Archives, Black Star, Nubya Garcia, Masters at Work, Bonobo, Theo Parrish and much more…

Every August We Out Here comes alive with 15 stages over the weekend, from the large open-air forest dance floors to small and intimate homemade sound systems: there’s something for everyone! See more of our site in the gallery here.

We also emphasise high-quality food and drink offerings, arts and cultural offerings, crisp sound and production, family activities, and wellness: all to complement quality-led musical curation.

We’re back this summer for our 5th edition, in our beautiful home of Wimborne St Giles, Dorset. Featuring seven-acre lakes, woodland parkland, and tucked-away spots to explore it offers our audience a primed base to fully escape into the music for a full weekend.

"I really wanted to bring to the UK a festival that celebrates the elements of UK club culture, and the community that surrounds it, that I have been lucky enough to be a part of over the years."
