Fimber Bravo

Hailing from Trinidad, Fimber Bravo is one of the most influential drivers of cutting-edge steel pan in

contemporary music: blasting it out in the black power protests of his native Trinidad in the late 60’s; in

fusion with West African stars in the 70’s, 80’s & 90's and now integrating the steel pan in leftfield

improvisations with Western pop and electronica.

In the 70’s Bravo was a founder member of the 20 th Century Steel Band, whose record 'Heaven & Hell'

became a global hip-hop touch stone, the 80’s he was Musical Director of the roots group Steel no.9; Skin, with music re-issued by EMI Records (Japan) as a cult classic.

Internationally renowned Bravo has loaned his steel pan talents to an astonishing array of artists, from Winifred Atwell to Sun Ra Arkestra, Mikey Moonlight, Hot Chip & Django Django.
